What is Showcase?
Stars and the Moon
Stars and the Moon creates high-quality, inclusive theatre experiences for people of
all-abilities. Our work is built around the Castmate Model, where two or more
performers support each other in exploring a role or performance together, with at least one identifying as disabled, living with a disability and/or neurodivergent.
Showcase + Workshop Series
Showcase is a 6-week program held once a week, with sessions available on either
Wednesday or Thursday. The program is designed to provide personalized opportunities for participants to collaborate with industry professionals on a featured
scene & song.

Frequently asked questions
Who can apply?
Anyone over the age of 18+ is welcome to audition!
Does everyone get in?
No, not everyone is guaranteed a place. However, we do run our 8 week Orbit Studios program at the same time, which is a great alternative option to stay involved.
Can I do this and Orbit?
Yes!
How much does the program cost?
As part of our castmate model, we reserve a number of volunteer spots for performers who wish to provide support. For performers seeking to receive support, our program follows NDIS price guides.
Theatre should be accessible to everyone. At STaM, it is our policy that no one should miss out on participating due to financial hardship. Our Treasurer can provide subsidies on a case-by-case basis. If you have any further financial questions, please contact our Vice President at Michaela@starsandthemoon.org
Where are the rehearsals and performance?
Our rehearsals are based in Caulfield and the performance will be at Hawthorn Town Hall.
Can my support worker come with me?
We have a closed-door policy, which means external carers and support workers are
not permitted to observe our programs. To ensure you feel comfortable and fully
supported, we provide a highly experienced inclusion team in addition to your assigned castmate. If you would like to perform alongside your support worker, they will need to apply separately to become a volunteer with us. Please note that this will not reduce the cost of your program.
